New diamond at Deep Creek takes shape

Work is well underway to replace the current grass base paths with entoucas.  This will provide a surface that is more durable and consistent than the current grass surface.

The work is being undertaken by Manningham City Council and is being jointly funded by Victorian Government, Manningham Council and the club.  Work began on 9 May and is scheduled to be completed in July.  During this period, training continues to be held at the club – using the outfield and batting cage.  Senior home games are being played at away grounds during this period.

Planning is still underway for an upgrade to the lights and it is anticipated that the lighting work will be completed in time for the Summer season.  Again that project is co-funded by State and local goernment together with the club.

According to Club President John Hollingsworth "Doncaster Baseball Club is very excited about this further significant investment in our facilities which is clear recognition of the great role that Doncaster plays in the local community.  We appreciate the support of Manningham Council and Sports and Recreation Victoria"
