Winter Postseason heating up

Winter baseball postseason action will continue this weekend with al four of our teams playing in must-win elimination games.

The B Grade side won their last regular season matchup of the year with a 20-2 demolition of Croydon to secure fourth position and clinch a postseason berth. They will now face third-place Melbourne Uni on the road in an elimination game.

The B Reserves fell just short of knocking off top side melbourne Uni. After tying the game up late with just seconds to spare, they eventually lost 5-6 in extra innings. The loss means the Reserves will now play Waverly at Heathmont at 1:30, with a grand final spot on the line.

The Early Es also came up short in another tight encounter, losing 10-11 to Knox. A win would have seen the Early Es jump straight in to the grand final, but instead they get to play an extra game of baseball (who doesn't love doing that?) in order to still qualify. They will face North Balwyn at La Trobe at 12:15 on Saturday.

The Late Es were the only of the three finals sides to win on the wekend, defeating Watsonia 6-2. The Late Es will now face Croydon at La Trobe at 2:45 on Saturday, with the winner moving on to the Grand Final.
