DBC Awards
Sunday, 16 November 2008 DBC announces the 'Plays of the Week' awards?
MENS - DBC lost to Geelong 8-10
The Colin Thomas Painting Offensive Player of the Game went to Cameron Hubbard.
The Outdoor Blind Co Defensive Players of the Game went to all outfielders on what was a nightmare day in very windy conditions.
The Bendigo Bank Player of the Game went to Cameron Hubbard.
WOMENS - DBC def Port Melbourne 14-0
The Templestowe Beauty Retreat Offensive Player of the Game went to Amy McCann who reach base all four times she went to the plate, finishing with 4-5 with double, four runs, RBI and stolen base. Highlight was her first inning double to left centre which hit the bottom of the fence.
The Mac Acrylic Defensive Player of the Game was a hard choice with a strong defense shown by the entire team throughout the game. However, this week's winner is right fielder Vibeke Pedersen who collected half a dozen flies denying the Port Melbourne team of any hits.
The Bendigo Bank Player of the Game was pitcher Ailsa Davidson. Ailsa was almost flawless, taking a not hitter into the 4th. She ended with only three hits across five innings whilst striking out two.
Each week on the DBC website, DBC announces the winners of the weekly awards for Offensive and Defensive Plays of the Game and overall Player of the Game awards for both the Mens and Women's 1s. Each award is named after one of DBC's generous sponsors - make sure you support those who support DBC!
