Dragons receive scholarship to prestigious baseball academy.

The Doncaster Baseball Club would like to congratulate the following Dragons who have received a scholarship to the 2011 Major League Baseball Australian Academy Program (MLBAAP).

  • Luke Brazier
  • Callum Lethborg
  • Daniel McGrath
  • Thomas Shiels
  • Lewis Thorpe

For McGrath, it will be the third time he has attended the MLBAAP and comes off the back of his recent selection in the Australian Schoolboys team, for which will travel to the US in September.

Brazier, Lethborg, Shiels and Thorpe make their MLBAAP debut.

Held on the Gold Coast each year, the MLBAAP is an experience of a lifetime for 60 players from across Australia who have been chosen to participate in the Programme.

They will be living a tough life playing baseball six days a week under an elite panel of coaches including Jon Deeble, Phil Dale, Tony Harris, Pat Kelly, Graeme Lloyd and Dave Nilsson.

At the conclusion of the camp, the ABF will select the Australian AA team will contest the World Championships in Mexico in August.
