Who will win this week's DBC 'Plays of the Week' awards?

MENS - DBC def Sandringham 3-2

The Colin Thomas Painting Offensive Play of the Game went to Scott Carr for his one-out, two-RBI, game winning single in the bottom of the ninth.  Special mention to Stuart Chinn for starting the comeback with a single.

The Outdoor Blind Co Defensive Player of the Game was Stephen Hood for a great relieving job on the mound.

The Bendigo Bank Player of the Game went to Scott Carr for his defence and game winning hit.

WOMENS - DBC def Malvern 8-6

The Templestowe Beauty Retreat Offensive Player of the Game went to Samantha Hamilton. Despite recent illnesses, Hamilton reached base all four times she went to the plate and delivered in a major way with two HPB, a single and double and five of the teams six RBIs.

The Mac Acrylic Defensive Play of the Game an unorthodox double play turned by 15 year old Bronwyn Gell (SS).  To end the sixth inning, she took a diving catch in short right field and off her knees, she threw the runner out trying to advance to home.

The Bendigo Bank Player of the Game went to Samantha Hamilton for her offensive display and some strong picks at first base.

Each week on the DBC website, DBC announces the winners of the weekly awards for Offensive and Defensive Plays of the Game and overall Player of the Game awards for both the Mens and Women's 1s. Each award is named after one of DBC's generous sponsors - make sure you support those who support DBC!
