The 2009 Victorian Junior squads have been finalised and the Dragons will be well represented.

Congratulations to all the Doncaster Dragon Juniors that were selected to represent Victoria at the 2009 Junior Nationals.   Victoria is sending two teams to each of the Nationals - U14s, U16s and U18s.  Doncaster has 12 players that will represent Victoria in one of these teams.

Matt McQuiggan, Luke Brazier, Thomas Shiels, Mitch Ellis and Lewis Thorpe were all selected in the final 32 player squad for the U14s.   Unfortunately Nathan Lowe injured his elbow a couple of weeks ago and had to pull out in the last stage of the trials.  The tournament is being held in Lismore from the 4th - 11th of January.  I know the Ellis' and Thorpes are just hoping to get past Dubbo this year !!

Ryan Lea, John King, Daniel McGrath, Matt Adair and Baden Smith were all selected in the final 38 player squad for the U16s.  They will be heading west on the highway to Geelong.  No planes required for these boys.  The tournament will be from the 6th - 17th of January.   Try to get down and see a game or two.   We will post the fixture as soon as it is available.

Rhys Aldenhoven and Leigh Bertrand were selected in the final 38 player squad for the U18s.   They will be heading out west to Perth (yes, much further west than Geelong).   The tournament is also being held from the 6th - 17th of January.

We would also like to congratulate 3 of our Doncaster coaches for being selected to be part of the Coaching group.   Chris "Smoke" Hodkinson will be the Head Coach of one of the U18 teams, Phil Bertrand will be the Head Coach of one of the U16 teams and Alan Tanner will be the Pitching Coach of one of the U16 teams.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches.  As a Club we are very proud of their achievements and look forward to following them through to the tournaments in January.
