U18 State - Doncaster/Melbourne lost to Geelong 0-12
Geelong: 560 01 = 12 Melb/Donc 000 00 = 0
Unfortunately, not much to report this week as Geelong were on song - hitting strongly to take the game by the 10 run rule in only 75 minutes. Strong offence saw the opposition jump out of the blocks with 5 runs in the first and another 6 in the second. Rhet started once again on the hill with Jacko required to get the last out in top of 5. Josh was the only batter to register a safe hit and the potential RBI was gunned at the plate; 9 to 2 for the 3rd out. Andy made 4 good plays in centre with an 8-3 attempt just failing. Geelong picked up 12 hits and their hurlers completed their assignment, tossing only 51 pitches.
Play of the day: Dane, behind the dish took a great catch on a high foul pop up in very blustery conditions.
Coach's quip: "difficult to beat consistent solid bats" Hits: 1, Josh Bevis

U14 State - Doncaster defeated Newport 14-0
The Donny boys were in full control today against a strong Newport lineup ! With Dan "the Man" McGarth on the mound he took control from the start and dominated the Newport bats ! 3 up 3 down to start the game and it was pretty much the way it panned out for the day ! With almost everyone in the batting lineup collect serveral hits including one on the elbow to Ryan "Mr State Catcher" Lea . Ouch that must of hurt !!!! He shock it off like all tuff catchers do and continued on his merry way catching great and collecting some more hits with the bat this time ! A very sun tanned Josh Ward back from his week away also belted a couple of doubles to join the party ! With the runs piling on we relaxed a little on the bases and that man "dan" was picked off ! Not to impressed he went back to the mound and mowed down the poor Newport bats . Baden "new boy" Smith asked to finish off the game and did extremely well ! Throwing lots of strikes and giving us another pitcher we can call on With an almost spectacular play from deep in the hole by "Mighty Mitch " to finish the game the boys finished off a Shell shocked Newport with the mercy rule ! Great game boys with everyone contributing at the plate and in the field we are rolling along very well ! Heading down to Werribee next week which will be great ! All that hard work at training is continuing to play off ! Keep it going and i look forward to seeing you all Tuesday and Thursday night . It would be great if our senior boys took a leaf out of the State Under 14s Boys with there commitment to training !!!! Good work boys keep it up !!!

U14 Metro - Wizards lost to Blackburn/Wav 3-12
The first monumental effort this week was just getting up and to the game (daylight savings!!). The second challenge was the wind which combined with the dust at Vermont causing a sandblast effect that eventually caused the game to be abandoned 20 minutes short of time.
The wizards made a gallant effort but were no match for the mighty batting power of Blackburn. They piled on 7 runs in the first innings making a hard target to catch. We responded with 1 run in the first innings but were shut out for the next 2 times at bat and put on another 2 runs in the 4th. The eventual score was 12 to 3.
Dylan did a great job with the pitching - we kept them down to only 1 run in the 2nd innings and none in the 3rd.
Special mention to Andrew, Bryce, Julia and Belinda for their magnificent catches and to Kobey for the neat work with 2 foul fly balls.
We saw some great efforts at bat by John, Belinda, Billy, Georgia and Dalton. GO WIZARDS

Doncaster scored their runs, 1 in the 3rd from a inside the park home run to Matthew McQuigan, 2 in the 5th and a walk off home run to win the game by 1 runs to Luke Brazier, Brazier was the hero of the day.
With the Dragons trailing by two runs going into the bottom of the 6th and time running out and with 2 out, Matthew McQuigan got a hit to rightfield then Lachland Dunn followed with a double to leftfield, which then brought to the plate Brazier, Brazier on 2 ball 1 strike count, got a perfect hitters pitch and smacked it over the (cones) at Left centre to clear the bases and Put the Draongs in front and to win the game by 1 run.
