U18 Metro Doncaster lost to Waverley 1-12
U16 State Doncaster lost to Sandringham 7-11
U16 Metro Doncaster BYE
U14 State Doncaster lost to Cheltenham 6-10
U14 Metro Doncaster lost to Melbourne 2-16
U12 State Doncaster lost to Waverley 1-5
Grand final rematch was played at montys ground this weekend and although Waverley had its revenge I was extremely pleased with our team's game . The boys played great ! it was a very high standard game with great pitching ,defence and some good hitting .
Lewis started the game and threw great challenging the good Waverley hitters .With a few walks and couple of passed balls Waverley jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but to our boys credit they never gave up and played hard all day . We swung the bats well and were very aggressive putting plenty of balls in play .
Our defence was great having many good plays in the infield .Nathan Lowe and Mitch Ellis had a couple of plays each on the left hand side of the diamond making them easy and Chase Hodkinson bob up at 2nd base with his first 2 plays fielding them like he'd being playing for years !Thomas behind the plate was great again gunning down his 2nd runner trying to steal .Callum and Mitch finished off the game pitching well and closing down Waverley .
Our only run of the game came late when Mitch Ellis singled stole 2nd and 3rd and Thomas drove him home .
Great game boys Waverley will definitely be the bench mark once again for the competition and I have no doubt that we will reverse the result next time we play ! Make sure all you boys get to training wed and thurs night where we will continue to work hard and have some fun
U12 Metro lost to Melbourne 0-8
