Doncaster boys headline in U12 Victorian Kangaroos Team in Japan

Congratulations to the boys from Doncaster selected to play in the U12 Victorian Kangaroos Team.  There were four boys – Ryan Lea, Andrew Reeves, Aaron Sayers and Daniel McGrath.

Ryan, Andrew and Daniel all play both summer and winter with the Doncaster Dragons; and Aaron plays winter only with Doncaster.

Below is a photo taken last month at the 24th Boys Nankyu Baseball World Championship in Tokyo.   Countries participating included Japan, U.S.A, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Korea, China, Singapore and Chinese Taipei.   The boys all did us proud.  They have been working very hard since last October when try-outs first started.

The boys spent 12 days in Japan.  All the boys stayed with families in the Washimiya region, approximately 50 kms north of Tokyo.  What a great time they had.  Unfortunately it rained almost everyday; so several of the games were cancelled.  But they played 6 games in total – with a 3 -3 record.
